The “What is Fun” Creative Writing Contest returns as a part of the second annual Phoenix Children’s Festival. Entries are due January 31, 2018, 5 pm., Winners announced during the Festival taking place Saturday, March 24, 2018, at CityScape in Downtown Phoenix. The contest encourages a new generation of authors and foster a love for reading. We received over 600 submissions and awarded each participant with free PCF admission.
The grand prize winner and the winner for each K-8th grade, Manzanita Elementary School, received a family five pack to PCF, tickets to our exclusive WOW luncheon with our main stage talent, Disney’s Peyton List, invitation to be a part of the main stage WOW Experience with fun, and games with Peyton on stage. The class with the most submissions won a family four pack of tickets and an on stage experience with Peyton. Manzanita Elementary School, the school with the most “What is Fun” submissions received a 100 book donation to their school library courtesy of Better World Books and Back-to-School Clothing Drive. All submissions were prominently displayed at the festival.

What are the prizes?
Five Finalists will receive a family four pack of general admission passes to Phoenix Children’s Festival and exclusive backstage meet & greet passes with celebrity talents! The SCHOOL with the most participation will receive a donation of 100 books to the school library. The CLASS with the most contest entries will receive two (2) general admission tickets per student.
When do I enter?
The deadline is January 31, 2018, at 5 P.M. Submissions after that date and time will not be considered.
